One of the best bento lunches I've ever had. A little bit of everything and very authentic. There was so much food and the price was very reasonable. It was also very cozy, like being at grandma's house.

Came mid afternoon and already good number of people eating. Short staffed so service can be slow.
Ordered udon set with miso cod. Appetizer takoyaki. And also another set with tempura.
Overall felt the food was quite tasty. Udon nicely cooked. Tempura flavor was nicely fried. Best of the day was the miso cod. Really good flavor.
Overall good option for homey Japanese food. Walked out and felt satisfied.

Kotohira is an awesome restaurant in an unassuming strip mall with a bunch of other restaurants in it.
Saw all the good reviews on yelp, and they were all true.
I got the tempura udon set. The tempura was the best I've had in a long time, and the udon had such the perfect chew/bounciness to it!
Definitely worth checking out or revisiting when I'm in the area.
Love the people working here too.
Super nice!

Came at around 6pm on a Wednesday and it got packed fast! Luckily we were able to snag a table before the dinner rush. It's a very quiet restaurant with traditional interior and was a nice and peaceful dinner. The food is a lot for $18 and tasty! We got bentos which came with sashimi, tempura, vegetables, karaage and more! The hot soba was sooo tasty although it was a small portion. I also really enjoyed the potato salad they gave as a small starting appetizer. The plaza is always buzzing with people and although there is a lot of parking it can get packed on the weekends. I would def come back for lunch sometime!

The food here is pretty good for homemade Japanese food. It's a very small restaurant so expect a wait for service. There's only 1 waitress and a helper/server.
Appetizers:
Agedashi tofu- delicious fried silken tofu in a sauce
Fried Chicken karage- it's delicious but felt like 5 pieces of popcorn chicken. It was SO tiny in portion
My favorite here is the katsu curry with rice. The curry sauce comes with a few chunks of slow cooked beef and carrots. It's a comfort meal.
Meal set- tempura with soba (preferred the cold option!)
What bothered me most about eating here were the flies during my last visit. Since people go in and out of the door, flies seem to fly in. There were so many the last time I was here and we had to keep shooting them away and they landed on some of our finished plates too.

This is a great old fashion Japanese restaurant. No extravagant presentation but just really good tasting food like your mom or grandmother would make. Prices are also reasonable. It is small so normally you will have to wait but we'll worth it.

Really awesome and homey family owned joint. Service was good, I came with family and they gave my nephew a set of a kiddie plastic bowl, plate, and cup. The food was so delicious as well. I got the bento which came with rice and several small portions of different dishes, but don't be fooled I was stuffed after eating every portion. I'll definitely be back here again soon.

My mom and I used to eat here years ago. We liked it then. Then, I moved to No Cal and after 12 years, we came back. We tried Kotohira hoping it will be as good as it used to be and they are better!! You can tell by their tempura (that's my gauge). The service is excellent and efficient. The restaurant still have the Japanese feel. I always like their booths.

This place was what I needed. Very home cooking type of place. Had the sukiyakidon and it hit the spot. Very tender meat and the broth was yummy. Would recommend this place for a local home cooked arrangement of food.
